In a distressed winter night
Is drowned each moment
And million centuries of agony
If an earthen lamp
Burns sleeplessly
In the distant star
Even if the deadly hand of night
Tends to wipe out life’s colour
Warmth of the distant flame
Picks up tenderly
A lighted moment of hope.
